Workshops

Grief therapist Rebecca Huval does urban sketching in a sketchbook for mindfulness. She leads workshops on urban sketching for mindfulness.

Does your team or group want to find a way to reconnect with their creativity?

I lead workshops on urban sketching for mindfulness. Together, we have fun, loosen our perfectionism, and learn how to connect with the present moment by sketching what’s directly in front of us. I also demo tools of awareness to become more self-compassionate about your work.

Please reach out if you’re interested in scheduling a workshop. Email me at rebecca@rebeccahuvaltherapy.com.

In September 2026, I’m leading a workshop on “Urban Sketching for Mindfulness” at The Great Create, Art Club Sacramento’s all-day event:

“Urban sketching is all about paying attention to the present moment. In this workshop, I’ll share strategies to enhance mindfulness while sketching on location. I’ll also demo some tools of awareness that have helped me to become more self-compassionate about my art, and as a result, braver and bolder in creating.

We’ll start with a warmup exercise, then practice our new skills by urban sketching outside. Please bring a sketchbook and a pen, or whatever tools you feel most comfortable drawing with!”
