Is your grief minimized?

Infertility & Reproductive Loss

Your grief is real. You’re mourning the loss of a life as well as the future you had envisioned for your family.

Chronic Illness

You’ve lost part of your identity. You’re mourning the body you had and the life you planned.

Ambiguous Loss

It’s possible to mourn someone who’s still alive. You might grieve a parent who’s emotionally gone, your own identity, or a relationship without a clear ending. Without resolution, grief can feel endless.

Abstract watercolor shapes in purple, pink, green and blue, with dots and squiggles, show a sense of vitality and hopefulness.

How I show up in the therapy room

Rebecca Huval, grief therapist, poses for a photoshoot in the Sacramento State Arboretum.

A bit about me…

I’m a therapist, an artist, and a softie. I work with grief and loss because they reveal what we hold most dear. My lived experience with infertility shapes how I show up as a therapist. Together, we tailor our therapy sessions to fit your needs, choosing from Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), art-making, and EMDR, which I’m training in.

I work with adults and teens who feel like the people around them don’t fully understand their loss. Grief can be a lonely experience that way. Struggles like infertility, chronic illness, and pet loss are often minimized. Maybe your friends have stopped checking in, or you're getting the message that you should be “over it,” whatever that means. Your grief matters, and it has no timeline. I want to help you feel seen and supported as you carry this loss.
