Is your grief minimized?
Infertility & Reproductive Loss
Your grief is real. You’re mourning the loss of a life as well as the future you had envisioned for your family.
Chronic Illness
You’ve lost part of your identity. You’re mourning the body you had and the life you planned.
Ambiguous Loss
It’s possible to mourn someone who’s still alive. You might grieve a parent who’s emotionally gone, your own identity, or a relationship without a clear ending. Without resolution, grief can feel endless.
How I show up in the therapy room
A bit about me…
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, an artist, and a softie. I became a therapist because I care about people and their stories. Before that, I worked as a journalist. I learned to listen carefully, ask good questions, and help people describe their emotions. Today, I feel so lucky to work as a therapist.
I work with grief that’s misunderstood. People around you might try to downplay the importance of your loss or ask you to “look on the bright side.” You might feel pressure to move on.
Many losses are minimized: infertility, chronic illness, pet loss. Just because people have stopped checking in doesn’t mean you should be “over it.” Your loss is real, and grief has no timeline. As a narrative therapist, I believe the story of your loss and your life deserves to be told with care. I would be honored to witness your growth.
